As the credits for Dawn of the Peck end, the shot cuts to a huge stage with elegant red curtains draped behind a stylish and modern podium.
An announcer calls out ‘Please welcome Series Creator Lauren Bouchard and Academy Award Winner Kevin Kline!’
The audience gives thunderous applause as Kline and Bouchard stroll to the podium.
Lauren: Good evening, everyone, I hope you’ve all been enjoying our Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving Awards Ceremony.
(Audience cheers)
Kevin Kline: and now we’re at the number one episode, the favorite of critics and fans alike, perhaps the only thanksgiving episode of any show to ever to challenge WKRP’s infamous turkey giveaway.
Lauren: Oooh I love that one lets’ watch that instead. (Audience chuckles)
Kevin Kline: Maybe we can after. Because everyone is here to see… (Looks at card he holds, then announces with great flair) Turkey in a Can!
(Audience erupts)
Lauren: That’s right… Turkey in a Can, the story of what happens after one family discovers their Thanksgiving meal main course has been dropped in the toilet, has become a holiday tradition, a seasonal standard alongside the Peanuts special and that aforementioned great, great WKRP episode.
Kevin Kline: Lauren, ironic how I am not in this one…
MEGAN MULALLY joins them on stage
Megan: But I am! Get lost Kline, go, shoo!
Kevin Kline sheepishly exits to audience laughter.
Megan: These men, they win one Oscar, am I right?
Lauren: Hi Megan, what do you have to say about Turkey in a Can?
Megan: Oh what can I say that’s not already been said?
(H. Jon Benjamin from audience) Squat!
Megan: (In Gail voice) that’s the wrong episode, silly!
Lauren: Turkey in a Can is about more than just one man’s efforts to hang into the Thanksgiving he’s loved even as the world changes around him.
Megan: That’s right. It’s also about a lonely woman making the best of a difficult holiday season, and her heroic cat, Mr. Business.
Lauren: And the search for the perfect Thanksgiving carol.
Lauren and Megan together: Sailors in your mouth! Sailors in your mouth!
Lauren: And without further ado, Turkey in a can!
(Audience erupts, curtain opens, Megan screams “It’s the end of the world!” and kisses Lauren on the mouth)
